Buid-A-Bear Birthday Fun

Zach and his best friend, Cole, took each other to Build-A-Bear to celebrate their birthdays. Cole's is June 27th and Zach's is July 16th. Each, unknown to the other, have been asking to go. They think so much a like. I was asking Cole's mom what he wanted for his birthday and she said Cole had been carrying his bear around for days. I then told her how Zach has been asking to go to Build-A-Bear.... so we each decided a trip to the bear making place was in order... Zach as a few creatures from Build-A-Bear, but we realized he did not have an actual Bear! So he choose a bear and named him Brownie! Here is Browning getting stuffed. Zach made sure to tell her he wanted the bear nice and soft. Zach warms the bear's heart before placing it inside the new friend. Zach holds the heart close to his and makes a wish! After the bear is all done, Zach picked out some cute outfits for him. "Woody"! We also got the Buzz, Darth Vadar, and Jedi outfits too. Zach and Cole with their new "friends". Cole picked a terrier dog, named it Terry. Cole has been doing karate and so he choose a karate outfit for his new creature! Both boys were very happy and had a great time together!

Happy Father's Day 2010

Happy Father's Day: From Brett and Zach! We love you!

Brett at Scout Summer Camp 2010

Brett went to the Hale Reservation in Oklahoma for Scout summer camp. This was his first summer camp. He was gone for one week. At summer camp the boys choose merit badges to work on. Brett completed his pottery, snow sports, fishing and wood carving badges. He even earned his Totn' Chip. That means his is now authorized to carry a pocket knife. He is so excited and we are very proud of his accomplishments. He did admit he missed home, and even felt slightly home-sick on Monday night. That was also the night it was cold and they had a real bad rain storm. He had a great time and sounds like he really got to do some fun things. Brett, who always had very sensitive skin as a baby, is now experiencing it again. He did develop a very bad case of heat rash over his entire body! Now all the scouts will want to bunk with Brett because he gets a fan in his tent a night! Brett at his pottery merit badge class. He made a small statue for Doug for father's day. Brett ready to "ski" down the slope during his snow sports merit badge class. Brett having the best time during his wood carving merit badge class. This was his first pick when he got the list to choose from. A fun game of chess with some friends. Ah, good to be back in Texas!

First Boy Scout Summer Camp

Brett and is Troop are off to Oklahoma! Hale Reservation. This is their first time to go to summer Boy Scout camp! No contact with the "outside" world. No phones, tv's, computers, or electronics! They left at 5am on Sunday and will return the following Saturday. Matthew, Brett and Kenny. Ready to get in the car and drive for 8hrs. Up at 4:30am. Brett was very easy to wake up... just a gently touch on the shoulder and whisper "Hey, you ready to go?", and he as up and running. We did not wake Zach up, so Doug got to stay home, and go back to bed.
