Fourth Grade Goes to the Capitol

Fourth Grade made their field trip to the State Capitol! They were able to reschedule the trip, after the swine flu thing.

Brett's class sitting on the steps of the Capitol. They toured the grounds seeing all the different monuments, visited the senate chambers, and even spoke with our rep. Fred Brown. After the Capitol, they all went to the Bob Bullock Museum and enjoyed learning even more about Texas history.

Here he is with is demonstration. He showed how they come together, put off heat and form a solid. He recorded temps up to 200 deg.

Each little league team has to run the concession stand during the season. Friday was our night. What fun!! I left smelling like popcorn, hotdogs, and sweat! It was fun to be with such fun wonderful people. Here we are, the first shift! Shannon, Elizabeth, Chris, Lee and me. At the end of our shift. We were ready to go! Had a great time. Good laughs. Even got shot at by the popcorn machine. It keep shooting grease and kernels at Elizabeth and me.

We have the best parents!

OPAS Field Trip

The fourth grade had a wonderful field trip to aTm and attended OPAS Camp. The focus was Lantin America. They attended different stations learning different aspects of the fine arts. They listened to a Tango pianist, learned to tango, learned about different styles of Latin American dances, and even got to go to a instrument "petting zoo" where the tried different instruments. Brett and Trent learning the Tango. What fun!

Soccer Season Party

Zach had a GREAT season with his friends. The Green Tigers were completly UNDEFEATED! Zach even scored 5 goals during one game. Yeah Zach. On Tuesday, we all gathered for pizza, fun, and of course, getting trophies. Here is Zach with the whole team after getting their trophies.

Cathrine, the coach's wife, with Zach. Her son is the other Zach, that is why they call our Zach: "Leopold". What a wonderful team we had and excellent coach.

Aggie Baseball Clinic

I took Brett to the Aggie Baseball game Saturday. After the game the team held a clinic for all kids. What fun. They rotated to different skill stations run by the players. Brett had a great time. The future Aggie All Star Baseball Player!

Private Field Trip

Due to the Swine Flu, Brett's fourth grade field trip to Austin was cancelled. All schools were asked to stay within their districts. The school quickly had a "make-up" local field trip, but Brett did not want to go. It was to a local gymnastics place and the movies. So, I decided to have and "Brett only" field trip to the George Bush Library. We had lunch and enjoyed some Brett/Mom time learning about George Bush and the special exhibit of the Space program. Brett in space!

Don't really know what this has to do with George Bush or space, but cool just the same.

Brett playing Baseball!

Brett in action during a game. He loves to pitch. He as been practicing during his private lessons and is getting better all the time.

Brett really concentrating. He did really well. Brett talks about playing ball for aTm...... what a dream. I can't wait to see him in maroon and white on the pitcher's mound.
