Brett's 4th Grade Class Plate

Here we go again.......this time for Brett's class. The carnival is just around the corner. This is the only fundraiser the school has. For Kinder and 4th grade, each class has a plate painted by moms then auctioned off. I became addicted to painting these plates last year when Zach was in Kinder. So, of course I painted the class plate for Brett's 4th grade class. This year the incomming 4th graders voted on the carnival theme. They chose "Under Water Adventures". The plate was along the same theme. The title: "Swimming in the Sea of Knowledge". The school mascot, a panther, is swimming among different sea creatures. The kids picked what type of ocean animal they wanted their fingerprint to be made into. It turned out great! Close up of the plate. Brett is the sea turtle. (what else would he be?)

It looks great. I can't wait to see what happens this year at the auction!

Pinwood Derby.....

Brett is working on his Pinewood Derby car. Here he is painting it himself! Imagine that, Doug's boy using a paint gun, who would have thought! Brett choose a "rocket" shape this year. He used every tool to shape and cut it. He has been sanding, now painting. Next is the decals. He and Doug have spent a lot of time designing, cutting, shaping, painting, and preparing the derby car. The big race is next weekend! Brett is ready!
